The Natural Guide Method

Building Local Teams

In each country, we work with the main institutions supporting sustainable tourism, adapting our methods to the local conditions. Our editorial teams involve local researchers, writers and photographers, who bring their own perspective on their culture. Through training, workshops and joined research, we help building the capacity of our local partners.

Educating the Traveller

A tourism destination is more than beautiful views, old monuments and exotic rituals. In our guide books, we tell the hidden life behind the landscapes, the intricate relationships between people and nature, and the changes taking place around us. We explain how tourist can have an impact on these changes, for better of for worse. We tell inspiring stories of local conservation initiatives, and how travellers can support them.

Promoting Responsible, Sustainable Tourism

Our travel guide books provide advice on hotels, home stays, eco-lodges, cafés and restaurants, and how to discover the local nature and culture, from cooking classes to painting, rafting, hiking or diving. All our recommended accommodations, restaurants and activities are selected based on a unique eco-rating system, based on the principles of sustainable ecotourism development.
